TEEN CHOICE 2011 will celebrate the hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports and fashion in the choicest, star-studded two-hour event airing live Sunday, Aug. 7 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” leads the TEEN CHOICE 2011 nominees with 12 nominations, and GLEE has nine nominations. In addition, “The Vampire Diaries” has seven nominations, while “The Hangover Part II,” Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez each earned six nominations.

Starting today, fans ages 13-19 can vote once each day per category for their favorite TEEN CHOICE 2011 nominees at http://www.teenchoiceawards.com. Performers, presenters and additional nominees will be announced soon.

ATTENDEE INSTRUCTIONS
You must pick up your item or items during San Diego Comic Con at the CineQuest.com Booth #5036. You will need to bring with you a copy of your invoice as well as a photo ID that includes information that matches your invoice before product will be released to you. Only the person ordering the item can pick it up at our booth. There are no exceptions to this policy so print out your invoice and bring it to the show.

You can pick up your order from 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 21 through 12 noon on Sunday, July 24. Pick ups are NOT allowed on Preview Night (Wednesday, July 20). Any orders not picked up by noon on Sunday, July 24, will be canceled and sold to Comic Con attendees on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you cancel your order, a refund of the amount you paid – less a 25% restock/cancellation fee – will be made back to your credit card within a month after the show.

  1. Book a minimum of 3 nights at one of the below hotels in the special offer program only. Stay must include the night of Thursday, July 21st. Additional nights are available at the Comic-Con convention rate which will increase the special offer price.
  2. Full prepayment of your hotel room is required at time of booking. Charges are non-refundable.
  3. You may purchase one badge per person staying in your room, up to a maximum of 4 badges per room while supplies last. All guest names must be on the reservation at time of original booking. Each badge is good for one 4-day badge for entry into Comic-Con starting on Thursday July 21, 2011 – Sunday July 24, 2011. Children 11 and under are free with paid adult membership (one child per paying adult).
  4. Adult 4-Day badges WITHOUT Preview Night are $137 per person, Junior (ages 12-17) 4-day badges WITHOUT Preview Night are $68. Travel Planners will send you directions telling your how to purchase your badges from Comic-Con within 2 business days of completing your room reservation. You must have access to the Internet and be able to purchase your badges on-line in order to qualify for this special offer.

Information on the Comic-Con single day badge purchasing process is now available online.

So we go to their website and find out what we already know so far…

There will be NO ONSITE REGISTRATION!

Comic-Con International will be selling returned single day badges through EPIC online registration.

An adult single day badge will be sold at the rate of $40 and Junior, Senior, and Military single day badges will be sold at the rate of $23 each. Sunday adult badges will be $23, and Junior, Senior, and Military Sunday badges will be sold at the rate of $13 each. These prices include a $3 reprocessing fee.

You may purchase up to TWO single day badges only.

Your Registration Process

To participate in the badge resale, click the button above that says, “Badge Resale Registration is OPEN”. This link will not be active until registration opens.

For 2011 badge resale, EPIC registration has developed an online waiting room where you will be placed in line (in the order you arrived) to enter the online registration session to purchase badges. After you select the link above, you will be redirected to the EPIC registration website and their online waiting room.

  • Your browser should have JavaScript and cookies enabled to function reliably with the waiting room. These features are usually enabled in the default configuration of most modern web browsers.
  • DO NOT MANUALLY REFRESH OR RELOAD THE WAITING ROOM PAGE IN YOUR BROWSER! Running multiple “tabs” or browser windows of the EPIC waiting room will cause you to be placed at the back of the line. If you refresh this page while in the EPIC waiting room, you will lose your spot in line and be moved to the back of the queue. It is therefore very important that you do not refresh or hit your browser’s “back” button while you are in the queue for badge registration.
  • While in the waiting room, you will be able to see your current position in line. Your number in line will automatically update every two minutes. There will also be a black registration status message with yellow text. EPIC registration will monitor badge sales closely and update this status message when inventory is running low. Should badges sell out before you are placed in your online registration session, this message will notify you.
  • You may be able to purchase up to two 4-day Comic-Con badges during your online registration session, while supplies last. If you would like to buy an additional badge for a guest, you must complete your first transaction and pay for your badge before you may purchase an additional badge. You will not have to return to the waiting room for your second purchase. Due to overwhelming demand for 2011 badges, all badge categories may be sold out before you have the option to purchase an additional badge.
  • Once you have been moved from the waiting room to your online registration session, you will enter your name and contact information. Please enter your full legal name as shown on your valid photo ID. You will be required to show a photo ID that matches the name on your barcode confirmation when picking up your badge.
  • After your contact information has been submitted, you may select your desired badge category: Adult, Junior, Senior, or Military. After agreeing to the Cancellation, Refund, and Exchange Policy, you will be prompted to enter your credit card information and review the accuracy of your order. If all information is correct, please type “AGREE” in the box below after reviewing the “Terms and Conditions,” then click the [Process My Registration] button at the bottom of this page. Upon submitting your order, your credit card will immediately be charged.
  • Print this page for your records, then select the [Purchase Another Badge] button to buy an additional badge, or click on [Return to Comic-Con Website] to exit the EPIC registration session.

Lionsgate and Kevin Smith Team Up for Innovative Release of Smith’s Controversial Thriller Red State

LIONSGATE® LGF, a leading diversified global entertainment company, and SModcast Pictures announced today that they have partnered to create an innovative approach to distribute Kevin Smith’s controversial thriller RED STATE, announced Jim Packer, Lionsgate President of Worldwide Television and Digital Distribution, and SModcast’s Kevin Smith.

Under the terms of the arrangement, Lionsgate obtains the rights to distribute the title on all packaged media, Video-On-Demand (VOD), Subscription Video-On-Demand (SVOD), Electronic Sell-Through (EST) and Television in the United States, while SModcast has retained the theatrical distribution rights throughout the US.  Under the guidance of marketing and distribution executive David Dinerstein, Smith’s self-distribution label SModcast Pictures and Lionsgate Films have devised a multi-tier release strategy unlike any independent film to date. The film is scheduled to release on multiple platforms this September followed by packaged media before the end of the year.

Written and directed by Kevin Smith and produced by Jonathan Gordon, RED STATE stars 2011 Academy Award® winner for Best Actress Melissa Leo and Emmy® winner John Goodman, plus Kyle Gallner and Michael Parks.  The film debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival to much notoriety when Smith ended studio bidding by buying his own film for $20 and declaring he would be self-distributing the film theatrically. Smith has since toured the film around the country to enthusiastic audiences, grossing close to $1 million to date at the US box office from only 15 single show engagements. SModcast spent less than $500 in paid advertising to support the tour which kicked off at Radio City Music Hall on March 5th and grossed $162,000 during one show. It quietly topped the per screen average charts for three weekends, becoming the 10th best per screen average film of all time.

The Lionsgate deal was negotiated by Wendy Jaffe, Lionsgate Executive Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs, Acquisitions and Co-Productions, and Smith’s attorney John Sloss, and David Dinerstein.

“Kevin has proven he knows how to mobilize his fan base surrounding the launch of his movies,” said Packer. “There has been great anticipation for RED STATE for almost a year. Although we could not participate in the innovative theatrical release, we are thrilled to bring his film to a wider audience this fall in VOD/Digital and packaged media.  We expect that Kevin’s passion, combined with the talented cast and ongoing buzz, will ensure a successful fall launch.”

“Before we decided to release RED STATE ourselves, Lionsgate was the ONLY distributor we hoped would buy the flick at Sundance,” said Smith.  “They understood The Harvey Boys commitment to a non-traditional theatrical release, and now embrace RED STATE like it is their own.  And we’ve embraced the Gate as essential partners who’ll run RED on Video-On-Demand and Blu-Ray.  This company crushed it with DOGMA back in ’99 and ever since, they’ve been able to punch through always-crowded cineplexes with the most responsible marketing budgets in the industry.  My flick is my art and my art is like my child; and I feel safe letting Lionsgate babysit my kid.”

RED STATE tells the story of a group of teens in Middle America who receive an online invitation for sex, but soon encounter fundamentalists with a much more sinister agenda. The movie is the latest release from Smith to be added to the Lionsgate library as the studio obtained the home entertainment distribution rights to Smith classics CHASING AMY, CLERKS and JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK through its recent acquisition of the Miramax catalog.

ThunderCats To Premiere on Cartoon Network on Friday July 29th!

ThunderCats, one of the most beloved cartoons of the 1980s and a continuing cultural force, comes to Cartoon Network in an all-new contemporary reimagining of the iconic animated series. Set as an epic tale, ThunderCats tells the story of a hero’s journey to fulfill his ultimate destiny. The series begins with an hour-long special premiere event on Friday, July 29, at 8 p.m. (ET, PT). Following the premiere, the show will air regularly on Cartoon Network Friday nights at 8:30 p.m. (ET, PT) beginning August 5.

Thunder, Thunder, ThunderCats! Ho!! On Third Earth, the kingdom of Thundera is being threatened by the evil sorcerer Mumm-Ra, and Lion-O, the young heir to the throne, embarks on a great quest to take his rightful place as king. The unlikely champion must work with his faithful comrades Tygra, Cheetara, Panthro, WilyKit, WilyKat, and his loyal pet, Snarf, who join him on his journey to save their world from darkness. To celebrate the premiere, ThunderCats will have a significant presence at Comic-Con International: San Diego. Nerd Headquarters Takes Over the Gaslamp District!

The Nerd Machine is taking over the Gaslamp District and transforming Jolt’N Joe’s restaurant into the center of the Nerdiverse.

In partnership with Break.com, Xbox, and Gunnar Optiks, the Nerd HQ is the destination for a unique and more intimate, personal experience.
The Nerd HQ is rallying the nerd army so they can share in all the gaming, technology, and entertainment we all love. And oh yea, there is no admission cost, everybody is welcome to enjoy. The Nerd HQ is an all ages event where you all nerds are welcome. However, at 8pm, local laws require us to raise the age limit to 21 and over.

Break Media, the online video sponsor, will be covering the event and posting reports from Nerd HQ and the SDCC. We are also creating 3 original videos in promotion of the event that will begin airing around July 4. Xbox, the official console of the HQ, will be providing interactive gaming areas for all HQ visitors to enjoy. Gears of War 3, Rayman and Gunstringer will all play prominently at the HQ. We will set the record for the most dancers in one game of the Kinect’s new “Dance Central 2”.  Gunnar Optiks, the official eyewear of the HQ, will be providing demo glasses for gamers and techies alike.

In an attempt to kick off the inaugural Nerd HQ with a “BANG” and offer you the most awesome interaction possible, we’re launching our first ever film festival, the “Nerd Machine Shorties”. The “1-Minute” video submissions will be judged by  and a winner will be chosen from the final 10 contenders. Prizes will be awarded the night of the festival, July 21st. Fun right?!

Read carefully, because here come the rules.

  1. Submissions may be shot on any medium you wish, but must be in a format playable on the web for judging and for playability in the Nerd HQ venue should they make the final cut and be shown the day of the festival.
  2. Submissions must be no longer than one minute in length. That’s right, you heard me, ONE MINUTE, or 60 seconds if you prefer. This includes all titles and credits. We believe your incredibly talented and creative minds are up to the challenge. Do you?
  3. Judging will be based on creativity, ingenuity, personality, and many other words that end in “ity”. Basically, the more fun you have with it, the more fun we’ll have watching it.
  4. Let’s keep it clean nerds.  No excessive profanity and no nudity, we run an all ages machine here.
  5. Submissions must be uploaded NO LATER THAN July 3, 2011 in order to be eligible!!!  We understand that time is limited, they are called “Shorties” for a reason, so get’er done people. B’okay!
