THE LOONEY TUNES SHOW Will Now Premiere on Tuesday, October 2!

The Looney Tunes Show Will Now Premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 8/7c

The Looney Tunes Show is back on Tuesday nights! Tune in to Cartoon Network on Oct. 2 to catch the season premiere of the hilarious prime time animated sit-com starring Bugs, Daffy, Porky and the rest of the Looney universe! This season begins with “Bobcats on Three,” where Daffy’s fibs and Bugs’ vices cause all kinds of trouble in the neighborhood.

Daffy, AKA “Dr. Duck,” has performed nearly every occupation – at least in his head. But there’s just one missing – coach! Gossamer and his friends approach Daffy and ask that he coach their water polo team. Daffy accepts, in spite of not knowing how water polo is played or even knowing how to swim. The kids teach him a life lesson about winning and losing, and he also learns that horses don’t belong in the pool.

Meanwhile, Porky is excited to get his catering business off the ground, but his healthy fare leaves lots to be desired. At Bugs’ urging, Porky starts using his grammy’s old recipes which are full of all things delicious like butter, sugar and heavy cream. Bugs can’t get enough of the artery-clogging food and resorts to throwing neighborhood parties just so he can get another taste of Porky’s cooking. His girth reaches new and epic proportions, and it isn’t until Daffy needs his help at the final water polo match that Bugs realizes just how large he’s become.

A new Merrie Melody, “Laser Beam,” joins this episode. Marvin the Martian sings a 1980’s-style power ballad lamenting his dear laser beam’s sudden demise. It’s a heartfelt number that proves even Martians who want to destroy the world have feelings.

Las Vegas Comic Expo Relocates to the Riviera

Las Vegas Comic Expo, previously announced to be held at the Alexis Park All Suite Resort, will be relocating to a new venue, the Riviera Hotel and Casino, directly located on the Las Vegas Strip!!!

Due to the flash floods from the recent rain storms, the original hotel and halls located at the Alexis Park Resort were damaged beyond immediate repair to house Las Vegas Comic Expo. Drywall, carpet and a lack of power proved too much to repair in such a short window, thus making the shift to the Riviera necessary.

We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused any of our guests, vendors and attendees. But oddly enough this unfortunate circumstance actually has led to an expansion for the show with a larger convention hall and plenty of space for attendees to browse and shop. The new location at the Riviera will be able to showcase and accommodate the entire guest list of over 50 of the top names in comics and entertainment all united with the exhibitors and artist alley in one grand exhibit hall. The gaming, panels and programs will be conveniently located adjacent to the main hall as well.

The dates of the convention hours remain the same for Las Vegas Comic Expo: Saturday, September 29 (10AM to 7PM) and Sunday, September 30 (10AM to 5PM).

All tickets previously issued will be honored and redirected to Las Vegas Comic Expo at the Riviera. Tickets are still available for sale in advance as well as at the door on the days of the event.

Located on the Las Vegas Strip, The Riviera Hotel and Casino is just a quick cab or shuttle ride from McCarran International Airport (LAS) and only minutes away from downtown Las Vegas and the Fremont Street Experience.

The hotel offers guests amenities of many dining options including a buffet, food court and steakhouse as well as the Oasis Pool, a barber shop, beauty salon, tattoo parlor (What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas), gaming casino and other forms of entertainment and conveniences. The hotel has ample free public parking, and is also a short walk to the public monorail system.

The Riviera is located at 2901 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, NV 89109.

Comedy Central Unveils Multiplatform Marketing Campaign for the Launch of Its New Animated Series BRICKLEBERRY

Campaign to Feature Exclusive Content on Facebook, Tumblr, and Decksi, Plus an Extensive Ad Campaign and Unique Event Marketing Initiative

Executive Produced by Daniel Tosh and Creators Waco O’Guin and Roger Black With Voice Talent Including Tosh, Kaitlin Olson, Tom Kenny, David Herman, Jerry Minor and Black

“Brickleberry” Premieres on COMEDY CENTRAL on Tuesday, September 25 at 10:30 P.M

COMEDY CENTRAL has turned over the controls to its Facebook fans. The brand has rolled out its multiplatform marketing campaign for its new animated series Brickleberry, which features the release of segments of the premiere episode based on the number of Facebook “Likes” it receives on the show’s page. This innovative approach along with the release of additional exclusive content on Tumblr, Decksi Cards and custom Brickleberry E-Cards will engage COMEDY CENTRAL fans and encourage them to share content with their friends. Executive produced by Daniel Tosh and series Creators Waco O’Guin and Roger Black, Brickleberry will premiere on COMEDY CENTRAL on Tuesday, September 25 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.

“This innovative launch campaign taps into the savvy social media fan-base that propelled ‘Tosh.0’ into a multiplatform hit,” said Walter Levitt, Executive Vice President, Marketing at COMEDY CENTRAL. “Using platforms like Facebook, Tumblr and Decksi, COMEDY CENTRAL is giving our fans the tools to become brand ambassadors for this new series.”

The multiplatform marketing initiatives for “Brickleberry” include:

  • Facebook: “Like To Unlock”
The campaign features an exclusive look at the “Brickleberry” pilot, which is being incrementally unlocked on Facebook: with every “Like” milestone set and reached, COMEDY CENTRAL will release a few more minutes of the pilot episode. Fans are encouraged to share the “Brickleberry” page on their Facebook Timelines and invite friends to “Like To Unlock” to view more of the pilot.
  • “A Countdown To Brickleberry
Leading up to the September 25 on-air premiere, COMEDY CENTRAL is posting daily behind-the-scenes stills, sketches, character designs, memes and GIFs to its Tumblr and Brickleberry Facebook pages. Fans can reblog the posts easily onto their own Tumblr and Facebook pages.
  • Decksi Cards
Partnering for the first time with a major media brand, this online trading card service will encourage users to “collect” and consume digital “Brickleberry” content. COMEDY CENTRAL’s deck currently features 17 cards, including two previews clips and four character mash-up videos. The deck will expand to 50 cards by the end of the season and active users will have the chance to unlock extra exclusive content.
  • Animated E-Cards
In keeping with the show’s “Nature is Filthy” theme, fans can create animated E-Cards to share with Facebook friends by selecting their preferred animal, sex position and dirty message. Once the E-Card is completed, it will appear on the selected friend’s Facebook Timeline along with a link to create and send one of their own. Also as an added bonus, the E-Cards include voiceover audio recorded by Daniel Tosh.

Additionally, in anticipation of the series premiere, COMEDY CENTRAL is extensively promoting Brickleberry through advertising on television, online, radio, outdoor and in subways. Also, as a part of the campaign, COMEDY CENTRAL will launch a one-day marketing stunt during the week of the premiere, sure to attract the attention of fans nationwide.

When commuters in select cities head to work on the morning of September 24, they will be greeted by more than 1,500 life-size cut-outs of “Malloy” the bear at major landmarks and intersections across the country. Malloy will be seen uttering something inappropriate and fans will be invited to visit NatureIsFilthy.com for more information.

From Executive Producer Daniel Tosh (“Tosh.0”) and series Creators, Writers and Executive Producers Waco O’Guin and Roger Black (MTV2’s “Stankervision”), Brickleberry, co-produced by Fox 21 and COMEDY CENTRAL, is a new animated series revolving around a group of dysfunctional park rangers at a second tier national park. Ten episodes kick off on COMEDY CENTRAL on Tuesday, September 25 at 10:30 p.m., following the fall premiere of “Tosh.0.”

Brickleberry voice talent includes Kaitlin Olson (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) as “Ethel,” the smoking hot top ranger who is transferred to Brickleberry; Tom Kenny (“SpongeBob SquarePants”) as “Woody,” the head ranger who has good intentions, but not always the best ideas; Dave Herman (“Futurama”) as “Steve,” the overconfident Ranger of the Month; Jerry Minor (“Eastbound & Down”) as “Denzel,” the African American ranger who isn’t comfortable in the woods; Roger Black as “Connie,” the unusually strong and masculine female ranger, and Tosh as “Malloy,” the cuddly, yet vulgar and spoiled resident bear. Jim Sharp and Ian Friedman are the Executives in Charge of Production for COMEDY CENTRAL.

Available on-air, online and on-the-go, COMEDY CENTRAL (www.cc.com) is the #1 brand in comedy and is owned by, and is a registered trademark of, Comedy Partners, a wholly-owned unit of Viacom Inc. (NASDAQ: VIA and VIAB).

NBM Is Going To SPX and Bringing Stan Mack, Brooke A. Allen and ABELARD!

Next weekend, you can find some of the most prestigious names in comics at the 2012 Small Press Expo (aka SPX).

Unlike many conventions that are geared toward pop culture or corporately owned comics, SPX was created in 1994 to promote artists and publishers who produce independent comics. SPX hosts an annual festival that provides a forum for artists, writers and publishers of comic art in its various forms to present to the public comic art not normally accessible through normal commercial channels.

It’s one of NBM’s favorite shows and this year we’re proud to bring with us both two talented cartoonists and the debut of our newest title (six weeks before street date!)

Stan Mack will bring his new book, Taxes, The Tea Party and Those Revolting Rebels: A History in Comics of the American Revolution and will be signing throughout the weekend.

A cartoonist de-mythologizes the Founding Fathers and makes them more ‘like us’”says The New York Times. Uncannily relevant to today’’s world. Learn about the original revolt against taxes: the Boston Tea Party, and the original Occupy movement: the Rebels in revolt against the status quo. A whimsical and informative pictorial history featuring a chubby, insecure King George III, rebellious and misunderstood colonists, loudmouthed and insensitive aristocrats, and more. Updated from the original “Stan Mack’s Real Life American Revolution” published by Avon books in 1994 .

Stan will be appearing at the NBM booth throughout the weekend and can also be found on Sunday at the 4:00 PM panel, Images of America: Real and Imagined
at the White Flint Auditorium alongside Nick Abadzis Dean Haspiel and Ben Towle. Isaac Cates will lead these four artists in a conversation about images of place in comics.

Also joining the festivities is Brooke A. Allen, creator of A Home For Mister Easter, which remains one of comics’ strongest debuts in the last few years.

Tesana has never really fit into anything before but her daydreams. But when making an attempt to connect to her peers by joining in a pep rally planning committee she suddenly discovers a little white rabbit that lays brightly colored eggs. Realizing that she may have found the real life Easter bunny, Tesana embarks on an epic quest in an effort to get him back to his natural habitat and into safe hands. However as she progresses on her fanciful journey she gains more and more undesired attention until the quest becomes an increasingly madcap race to stay ahead of greedy pursuers and find a safe place for her new friend…wherever that place may be. It’s Tesana against the world!

If you haven’t checked it out yet, be sure to pick up a copy at the show.

And finally, we will be premiering Abelard, from artist Renaud Dillies and writer Régis Hautière!

The charm of Renaud Dillies strikes again: after the mouse of Bubbles and Gondola, here is another dreamer, little chick Abelard. To lure pretty Epily, Abelard sees only one solution: to catch the moon for her! So off he goes to America, the country which invented flying machines. Armed with his banjo and his proverb-sharing hat, he launches out on the country roads, meets Gypsies, then Gaston, a grumpy bear with whom he will share a good bit of his way… As opposed to dreamer Abelard, Gaston has his feet firmly planted on the ground. With this funny animal road-movie where the absurd becomes poetry, Régis Hautière and Renaud Dillies offer us another small jewel.

Throughout SPX, NBM can be found at tables A8-A9. For further details, visit the SPX website, www.spxpo.com

Ben Folds Five to Perform at New York Comic Con

Opening Night Concert Free for VIP and 4-Day Ticket Holders!
Appearance is part of band’s 2012 reunion tour

Officials at New York Comic Con (NYCC) are pleased to announce that the critically acclaimed and renowned alternative rock trio Ben Folds Five will perform at NYCC in an opening night concert. This exclusive concert appearance for the fans attending NYCC will be part of the band’s reunion tour following the release of their first new album in 13 years called The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind . Ben Folds Five will perform in the IGN Theater at NYCC on Thursday, October 11 at 8:00 PM, presented by WD, maker of digital storage and home entertainment products. The concert is free for NYCC VIPs and 4-Day ticket holders with entrance provided on a first come, first served basis. Badges must be presented at the door.

This year’s New York Comic Con, which attracted over 100,000 fans last year, will take place October 11 – 14, 2012 at Manhattan’s Javits Center. The extravaganza attracts top talent and major artists from all areas of the pop culture universe including comics, film, television, music, books and gaming.

Ben Folds Five reunited last year to record three new songs for the career-spanning compilation The Best Imitation of Myself: A Retrospective. At that time the band hit on ideas that yielded their first new material since 1998’s The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner which has led them back into the studio to record a new album. Ben Folds has noted that when the trio, which includes bassist Robert Sledge and drummer Darren Jessee, got together for the compilation their time together was very creatively productive. He notes: “I just started throwing ideas out there, one after the other, and they were all coming together and sounding like something from another album, like an album in the future. We really found ourselves very interested in making another sound.”

In commenting on the exclusive concert engagement, Lance Fensterman, Group Vice President and Show Manager for New York Comic Con, notes: “This is an awesome way to be kicking off this year’s edition of New York Comic Con, and it is definitely a statement about the type of high quality programming and entertainment that we plan to deliver to our fans on all fronts. We are all about providing killer content from all strains of popular culture. This is simply the latest in a long line of notable announcements that we will continue to make right up to our show. We are grateful to Ben Folds Five for agreeing to fit us into their tour schedule and for getting our 2012 event off to such an auspicious start. The IGN Theater will be packed with fans on Thursday, October 11!”

As noted, New York Comic Con spans the pop culture universe, welcoming guests from the worlds of movies, television, anime, manga and video games and providing a home to all that is new, nerdy and cool. In the past, this has included performances from stand-up comics, dinners with all-star chefs and panel discussions with names in fields ranging from cryptid research to theoretical physics. NYCC is proud to be building on this tradition by playing host to Ben Folds Five. The band has been a part of the broader pop culture world since 1994 and their appearance at NYCC will be an opening highlight, ushering in a show filled with pop culture celebrities, guests and entertainment activities.

“Ben Folds Five personifies the inspiration and creative courage that attendees of New York Comic Con so much embrace and that we applaud at WD,” said Jim Welsh, executive vice president for WD’s branded products and consumer electronics groups. “We support artists, hobbyists and creative professionals of all types as we know their digital storage devices need to be reliable and entertainment products effortless to use and of the highest quality.”

WD will be showcasing its newest home networking products, which accelerate movies, video and gaming, delivering a premium high-definition entertainment experience. Truly fitting New York Comic Con style, WD’s showcase will be in a 34-foot Airstream trailer, wrapped in flashy images and parked inside the Show Floor (Booth #1167).

Tickets for New York Comic Con in 2012 are currently available for purchase at www.NewYorkComicCon.com. Anyone interested in exhibiting at New York Comic Con should contact Larry Settembrini, Larry@ReedPOP.com. Other information about the show, as well as news about ReedPOP, which organizes a range of pop culture events, is available at facebook.com/NewYorkComicCon and twitter.com/NY_Comic_Con . Organizers note that many more guests will be announced over the next few weeks and fans should keep their eyes on NYCC’s website and blog for additional comic, entertainment and anime announcements.

ABOUT BEN FOLDS FIVE
Ben Folds Five
, the groundbreaking trio who changed the course of indie rock in the mid-1990s, has re-formed and is releasing The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind, the group’s first album of new music in 13 years.

Ben Folds Five is Ben Folds (piano), Robert Sledge (bass) and Darren Jessee (drums) who emerged from Chapel Hill, NC in 1994. The trio’s high energy gigs garnered an intensely loyal fanbase and BFF signed first with an indie releasing their first eponymously titled album featuring the classics “Underground” and “Philosophy.” Then a move to the majors wrought 1997′s watershed album Whatever And Ever Amen. A slice of pure pop perfection, the album introduced the ballad “Brick,” broke the band commercially and sold more than two million copies worldwide. BFF recorded its last album, 1999′s The Unauthorized Biography Of Reinhold Messner , which included the single “Army,” before disbanding in 2000.

The trio briefly reunited for a one-off live performance of The Unauthorized Biography Of Reinhold Messner on MySpace in 2008 and in 2011, the original three members recorded three new studio tracks for The Best Imitation Of Myself: A Retrospective, a career-spanning Ben Folds anthology. The old magic seemed to be rekindled.

BFF gave its first concert in more than a decade to a spellbound audience at New York’s Mountain Jam Festival on June 2, 2012. That was followed by a short run of key US summer festivals in June including Bonnaroo, Milwaukee Summerfest, and Old St. Patrick’s Church Block Party in Chicago.

The band returns to the road this Fall with a major North American tour. November will see BFF performances at Australia’s two-week Harvest Festival followed by tours of the UK and Ireland. In 2013, Ben Folds Five will go to Japan, Korea and elsewhere in the Pacific Rim as well as returning for more North American shows.

Chinese Company RIPS OFF Apple’s New iPhone 5 with Their Patented Version Called the GooPhone i5!

The time for TROLLING has come to the digital age in China. There is a company in China releasing their version of the iPhone in China calling it the GooPhone i5? Anyone see the ripoff here? Maybe it’s just me. How ridiculous can you get? Okay, fine… The “guts” of the GooPhone i5 is Android. So what will happen is when Apple releases the iPhone 5 in a couple of days, this company will sue them for infringing on “their” patent… Fun, legal times are ahead.

The GooPhone i5 is said to feature an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core 1.4Ghz CPU, 1GB RAM and an Android 4.0 ICS with an iOS 6 theme. It will also have a 4-inch retina display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 along with a 8 mega-pixel camera.

Any thoughts on this? Who’s right? Who’s wrong? Should a company be able to blatantly copy a product and profit from it? Who will win?

Stan Lee’s Comikaze 2012 Unleashes a Zombie Apocalypse!

Stan Lee’s Comikaze Unleashes A Zombie Apocalypse and Batman Cast Reunion

Stan Lee’s Comikaze, LA’s largest pop-culture convention, owned by comic legend Stan Lee and horror icon Elvira, have just announced a 75k sq ft Zombie Apocalypse obstacle course in addition to their 250k sq ft convention floor, planned for Sept 15-16 2012 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC).

According to the Stan Lee’s Comikaze website, a previous convention in the LACC  left all attendees infected with the zombie virus. Making light of a bad situation, Comikaze dares their attendees to run, slide, climb, and crawl through one of the best-planned, zig-zagging obstacle courses – All while being chased by flesh-eating zombies! The Zombie Apocalypse is conveniently located in Hall K and takes about 35 minutes to complete.

The Comikaze Zombie Apocalypse costs an additional $30.00. The course is not recommended for children 12 and under.

Tickets are limited – So get yours today!

If surviving the Zombie Apocalypse is not something you’re interested in, fans can pay between $75.00 – $150.00 to be transformed into a flesh and brain eating zombie by SFX artists. Zombies are expected to terrorize, chase, and infect the survivors to their heart’s content.

Stan Lee’s Comikaze embraces all zombie culture. There will also be appearances from Norman Reedus (Daryl from Walking Dead), and Tony Moore, the original Walking Dead comic artist.

“I am really proud of this course, no other zombie course has been like it. This will set the standard!” says Comikaze CEO, Regina Carpinelli.
