ABC’s Opener of MARVEL’S AGENTS of S.H.I.E.L.D. is TV’s #1 Drama Debut in 4 Years!

It was Tuesday’s #1 TV show in Adults 18-49 (tie) and across all key Men demographics (M18-34/M18-49/M25-54). Despite the strong competition, the self-starting ABC drama gained young adults from its first half-hour to it second half-hour.

Please Note: On top of its big Live + Same Day numbers, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is expected to get a big lift from TV playback, considering its young-skewing audience. Well ahead of its debut this past weekend, the new show surpassed 1 million Facebook fans.

The season’s #1 new comedy in Adults 18-49, the series premiere of The Goldbergs at 9pm beat Fox’s New Girl by 52% and topped last fall’s premiere of Happy Endings in the half-hour hour by 78%. It was TV’s top-rated comedy debut in over 1 year and ABC’s highest-rated in 2 years – since 9/11/12 and 10/11/11, respectively.

At 9:30pm among Adults 18-49, the debut of ABC’s Trophy Wife defeated Fox’s The Mindy Project by 53% and outdelivered the year-ago fall premiere of Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23 by 35%.

In the 8:00 p.m. hour, ABC’s series debut of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. opened a strong No. 1 in the time period with Adults 18-49 (4.6/14), defeating NBC’s Tuesday premiere of The Voice by 15% (4.0/12) and CBS’ season premiere of NCIS by 35% (3.4/10), to qualify as TV’s highest rated drama debut in nearly 4 years – since 11/3/09. It was also Tuesday’s No. 1 TV show in Adults 18-49 (tie) and across all key Men demographics (M18-34/M18-49/M25-54). Trophy Wife (9:30-10:00 pm)
At 9:30 p.m. among Adults 18-49, the debut of ABC’s Trophy Wife (2.3/6) defeated Fox’s The Mindy Project by 53% (1.5/5) and outdelivered the year-ago fall premiere of Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23 by 35% (1.7/4 on 10/23/12).

Lucky 7 (10:00-11:00 pm)
During the 10 o’clock hour, ABC’s debut of Lucky 7 was up over the Net’s most-recent drama premiere in the time period by 8% in Adults 18-49 (1.3/4 vs. 1.2/3 for Body of Proof on 2/19/13).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 48% currently, from 45% at the same point in 2012. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.

The Marvel Universe is coming to ABC. When ABC airs Marvel‘s Iron Man 2 on Tuesday, September 17 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT), it will feature the broadcast premiere of the full-length, uncut trailer for Marvel’s highly anticipated epic adventure Thor: The Dark World. Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World releases in U.S. theaters on November 8th and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.

New promos of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will also be showcased during the broadcast of Marvel’s Iron Man 2. Additionally, in celebration of Marvel’s Iron Man 3, now available on HD Digital and also on Blu-ray(TM) September 24th, there will be a special behind-the-scenes look at the film during the broadcast.

The show will also be spotlighted at the Marvel Entertainment Booth on the Convention Center floor throughout the entire weekend, with special surprises to be announced!

Saturday, July 20 is a day filled with magic, as the executive producers of ABC’s Once Upon a Time and their newest drama, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, will be in attendance with their casts, participating in panels and press room interviews. ABC’s booth on the Convention Center floor will highlight both shows and host autograph sessions with each cast.

Fans can also enjoy the enchantment of both Once Upon a Time and Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, as they catch rides throughout the city on one of several ABC branded pedicabs. We hope you take a ride on the Evil Queen’s carriage, The Jolly Roger or Alice’s magical mushroom!

One-of-a-Kind Booth Welcomes THE NEIGHBORS to Comic-Con 2012

The Neighbors booth will take Comic-Con attendees through an “Earth training session.”

A unique booth at Comic-Con 2012 will showcase the world of The Neighbors, a new comedy series coming to ABC this fall. In the new series, the very human Weaver family of New Jersey is in for the shock of their lives when they discover that the exclusive community they just moved to is populated by aliens from the planet Zabvron, who are passing themselves off as humans. The Neighbors booth will take Comic-Con attendees through an “Earth training session.” Like all good Zabvronians here on a visit, they’ll get a new Earthling name, special guidelines for co-existing on their new planet . . . and a free T-shirt! Con goers who stop by the booth will also get a sneak peek at the new series. The booth will be open during Exhibit Floor hours: from 6:00-9:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, for Preview Night; from 9:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 12 through Saturday, July 14; and from 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 15.

The Neighbors stars Jami Gertz, Lenny Venito, Simon Templeman, Toks Olagundoye, Clara Mamet, Tim Jo, Ian Patrick, Max Charles and Isabella Cramp. The series was created by Dan Fogelman (Cars, Tangled, and Crazy, Stupid, Love), who is an executive producer along with Aaron Kaplan (GCB, Terra Nova), Jeff Morton (Modern Family) and Chris Koch (Workaholics, Modern Family). The series, from ABC Studios, will premiere this fall on the ABC Television Network.

ABC’s PAN AM Brings Fashion Week Goers An In-Flight Experience Without Having to Leave the Ground, Beginning September 8

ABC is bringing an in-flight experience without having to leave the ground to New York’s Fashion Week attendees, SEPTEMBER 8-14. Pan Am-inspired stewardesses will be stationed at coffee carts offering up coffee and tea each morning to local New Yorkers and attendees of some of the biggest fashion shows in New York City.

In addition to providing beverages, stewardesses will also be handing out the must-have bags of the season – the highly coveted Pan Am Explorer bag, as well as Pan Am track bags — that people have been buzzing about since their debut at San Diego Comic-Con.

Scheduled dates and times in and around Lincoln Center for the In-Flight Experience are as follows:
