Steve Wozniak Approves of Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs in an Upcoming Biopic

Ashton Kutcher has been selected to play Steve Jobs in an upcoming independent biopic called Jobs written by Matt Whiteley and directed by Joshua Michael Stern. The film begins filming in May after Two and a Half Men wraps up for the summer. Kutcher is no stranger to the technology world. In 2009, he became the first user on Twitter to gain more than one million followers (he has over 10 million now!). He has also invested in a few tech companies including FourSquare and Skype.

There is a slightly uncanny resemblance between Kutcher and Jobs. Steve Wozniak, Apple’s other co-founder, told TMZ that he approved of the choice of Ashton Kutcher to play his former partner and friend. Many people have said that Kutcher was selected because he’s ‘hot’ right now, but Wozniak disagrees. He said that he feels that “his selection was done in the most professional manner. And I’m glad that he’s onboard. I think he’ll put a lot into it and that he cares about this particular subject.” What do you think? I think he’ll do a great job (no pun intended)!

Steve Wozniak’s statement follows:

“There is probably little I can say, other than expressing my belief that this will be a great and popular film. I feel that Pirates of Silicon Valley was more interesting and grabbing and gets more play in schools of all levels than The Social Network. My hopes are that this film turns out as truthful and genuine as possible. I can’t judge that aspect until the film is done and I see it.

As to the role of Steve Jobs I have little to say. Everyone has their own idea of who they think could play Steve the best. But when we started Apple at our young ages I decided not to put my nose and comments into every aspect of the company, like the color of boxes or the job responsibilities for a team. I would not step on the toes of people who had done these jobs for many years or decades. I would just do my engineering where I could not fail. So I look at the casting agencies and directors who are experts at casting. i trust that they considered all the relevant factors and made the best selection.

The fear that many might have is that Ashton was selected because he’s ‘hot’ right now. But I feel that his selection was done in the most professional manner. And I’m glad that he’s onboard. I think he’ll put a lot into it and that he cares about this particular subject.

It’s almost too bad that Steve Jobs is gone. His opinions and guidance, as to the story and film crew and cast would have been invaluable.”

Just a side note: Sony Pictures Studios is also developing a movie based on the bestselling 2011 biography by Walter Isaacson.

Everyone knows that Ashton Kutcher is the new leading man in Two and a Half Men right? But does anyone know that not only is CBS paying Ashton Kutcher a nice salary of $700,000 per episode but he also gets a frakking 30 ton, two-story (15 ft)  trailer with approximately 1,200 sq. ft. of living and working space?!? “The Heat,” as the trailer is called, features a full kitchen, a master bedroom, other spacious rooms, lobbies, and restrooms and showers! It also features leather, oak and marble throughout the entire unit and has a 360-degree, 24/7 video surveillance and security system! Just a note, the second floor raises up by the use of hydraulics! According to reports, the trailer is leased for about $9000 a week! This mobile estate is designed and leased by Anderson Mobile Estates.

Inside this massive trailer, you can watch one of seven 60-inch 3D plasma screens! The cost of the trailer alone would be approximately $2 million to purchase. Kutcher is probably the highest paid prime-time actor today!
