Warner Bros. To Follow Comic-Con Autograph Ticket System

Comic-Con and Warner Bros. Entertainment are announcing today that Warner Bros. will follow the official Comic-Con International: San Diego ticket distribution system for autograph signings at this year’s event.

As in years past, all signings will be held at the Warner Bros. booth, which is #4545 on the Comic-Con show floor.  But under the long-standing Comic-Con system, Warner Bros. will distribute wristbands for signings via daily ticket drawings held at Sails Pavilion #9 inside the San Diego Convention Center.

“Safety is always our main concern with signings or events, so it is Comic-Con policy that access is regulated by a drawing for a chance to win — giving all attendees an equal opportunity to enter,” said David Glanzer, director of marketing and public relations for Comic-Con International.  “We are happy that Warner Bros. has agreed to utilize this system and thank them for once again offering such unique opportunities to our attendees this year, as well as their continued support of Comic-Con.”

Fans interested in attending signings at the Warner Bros. booth should review the schedule listed below, then plan to visit the Sails Pavilion at the time of each drawing.  All fans present at the appointed time will receive numbered tickets that feature a distinct sticker. Then a randomized drawing will determine which fans receive wristbands granting access to each autograph line.

See below for the current schedule of ticket distribution and signing start times.

NBC Drops The Event and Passes on Wonder Woman…

NBC passed on the Wonder Woman pilot from David E. Kelley and Warner Bros. TV. Kelley changed Diana Prince’s character a bit by making her CEO of a major conglomerate by day and a heroic Amazon by night. The pilot got mixed reviews at test screenings and people did not like the costume…The wardrobe department went back to the drawing board but even that didn’t help. Maybe Warner Bros. TV can try to shop the pilot to the CW to fill the gap that Smallville will leave behind?

NBC’s Chuck has been renewed for a fifth season but this will be the final season of Chuck. We pulled out a victory, securing a fifth season of only 13 episodes. It is sad that it will be the final season, but at least we got there right? Creator Josh Schwartz tweeted: “What’s the square root of 25” and “ The passion of the CHUCK fans has been heard again… We are all truly lucky to have the greatest fan base on tv. Thank you. … I will have more details soon… Very happy for the cast and crew.”

NBC dropped The Event, the sci-fi action drama. The show was about aliens living among us covertly and seemed to work at first and the ratings dropped gradually…

Chelsea Handler’s sitcom just got a series order. Laura Prepon will star in this comedy based on Chelsea’s best-selling memoir (Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea) about her life as “a 20-something woman who has a very honest and provocative point of view on dating, friends and family.”

The comedy, Free Agents, was picked up. It’s a remake of a British sitcom about two co-workers (Hank Azaria and Kathryn Hahn) who fall for one another.

Another comedy was also picked up–Bent. It stars Amanda Peet who falls for a sexy surfer dude she hires to re-do her kitchen.

BFFs (Best Friends Forever) was picked up and it stars Stephen Schneider. It’s about a woman and her live-in boyfriend who take in her pushy best girlfriend.

Grimm is a fantasy drama starring David Giuntoli (Privileged) as a police detective whose mission is to protect from Grimm’s Fairy Tale characters in the real world. The cast also includes, Silas Weir Mitchell (Prison Break), Sasha Roiz (Caprica), Bitsie Tulloch and Kate Burton.

NBC has picked up Chad Hodge’s The Playboy Club? Set in 1963, the drama centers on the opening of the first Playboy Club in Chicago. The cast, which includes Amber Heard, David Krumholtz, Eddie Cibrian and Jenna Dewan-Tatum, was asked to agree to a nudity clause for the pilot (The nude scenes are expected to only be used for DVD and international versions of the show).

Awake (described as an Inception-like drama) is from Kyle Killen and it follows the simultaneous and parallel lives of a detective who can not let go of any aspect of his fractured family after a horrible car accident. Besides Jason Isaacs, it also features Wilmer Valderrama (That 70s Show), Laura Allen (Terriers), Cherry Jones (24), Steve Harris (The Practice) and Michaela McManus (The Vampire Diaries).

Prime Suspect, the series adaption of the acclaimed British miniseries. Maria Bello plays a tough NYC detective.

Steven Spielberg’s musical drama Smash. It’s a musical drama that follows a group of people putting on a Broadway play about Marilyn Monroe starring Debra Messing, Katharine McPhee, and Anjelica Huston.

Up All Night stars Christina Applegate as a woman juggling work and motherhood. Maya Rudolph and Will Arnett costar.

Whitney is a sitcom that stars comedienne Whitney Cummings and it’s about a young couple in a committed relationship.

NBC has dropped Law & Order: Los Angeles even  after the show was reworked midseason and the ratings continued to drop.

The comedy Outsourced is done.

Mann’s World didn’t make the cut either. It was a drama about a hairstylist, and the Civil War-era Western Reconstruction.

Ron Moore’s 17th Precinct didn’t make it either.

Warner Bros. is getting ready for Comic-Con 2011!

Warner Bros. is getting into the swing of  Comic-Con 2011. They are steadily updating their page and have released some cool info. As Tammy Golihew says that they are planning on having cast members from shows like The Big Bang Theory, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Fringe, V, Chuck and Human Target. Well, I don’t think Human Target will be there as Fox canceled the show. I hope that they will still have some kind of Smallville panel but it’s probably unlikely. Other shows that were mentioned were Children’s Hospital, Young Justice, Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo and ThunderCats!

We also learn that Warner Bros. will have an Exclusive ThunderCats Shirt!

…and Special Editions of TV Guides featuring WB shows like last year!

Warner Bros. is excited to once again return to Comic-Con in San Diego this July.  We’ll have even more TV shows, new games, films and stars at The Con for the panels, signings and available for sampling.  We are working hard on the designs for the 2011 Comic-Con WB booth and we’ll be introducing a new ticketing system this year for the signings and panels.  Please check back here for developing news, new videos each week and more information about the schedule.  We look forward to seeing you in San Diego, or having you follow us here on the site as well as on Twitter at @thewbdotcom where we will have up to the minute information, photos and video.
