Something must be going on at Comic-Con headquarters, as their communication has pretty much come to a halt on their Twitter Feed. Why the sudden lapse of information? This is leaving a lot of people confused and a little irritated. Well, hopefully things will get better over there.
To Comic-Con 2011 Prospective Press Attendees:
Due to the continued increase in demand for Comic-Con badges against a self-imposed attendance cap, we have again refined our press admission policies for 2011.
We recently e-mailed verification notices to 2010 press attendees who met our registration criteria that they would qualify for a press badge for the 2011 show when Press Registration opens.
Press who previously attended the show but did not receive a verification notice, as well as first time press, will have the opportunity to submit registration applications and verification materials when press registration opens. These applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The general rule for press is that they will need to demonstrate through verification materials that they have regularly made editorial contributions to established outlets (we consider circulation numbers and site traffic, etc.) for over one year.
Unfortunately, the number of press badges per outlet may also be further restricted this year and allotments will be made on a case-by-case basis. Regretfully, we cannot guarantee returning outlets will be extended the same number of badges they were in 2010, though we will endeavor to make reasonable accommodations.
If, after reviewing this information, you are concerned that you or members of your team may not qualify for a 2011 press badge, we encourage you to check the qualification guidelines for Professional Registration.
Names, outlets and e-mails of registered press will once again be made available to exhibitors, programming participants and others prior to the show.
Thank you for your understanding and please direct any questions to email@example.com.
PLEASE NOTE: Verification criteria will be posted here when press registration opens. Any materials submitted prior to that time will not be considered.
As always, the issuance of a press badge is at the sole discretion of Comic-Con.
