Mike Judge’s  “Beavis and Butt-Head”
In 1993, Mike Judge, creator of Beavis and Butt-Head, and MTV knocked their heads together and launched a cartoon series starring a couple of lunkheads and unwittingly started an animated pop culture revolution.  Now, Beavis and Butt-Head are coming back to MTV on Thursday, October 27 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT to unleash upon “Jersey Shore,” viral videos and more!  See footage from the new episodes, and join Mike Judge as he discusses the duo’s return to MTV!   Fans who attend the panel will receive some sweet “Beavis and Butt-Head” swag.

Good Vibes
This half-hour coming-of-age comedy follows transplanted Jersey boy Mondo (voiced by Josh Gad) and his best bud Woodie (voiced by Adam Brody) as they surf the biggest waves, hit the wildest parties and chase the prettiest girls in Play Del Toro – a colorful California beach community.  The all-star ensemble cast also features voice appearances by Debi Mazar as ‘Babs’ Mondo’s mom; Alan Tudyk as ‘Lonnie,’ a burnt-out but wise beach bum; Danny McBride as ‘Ms. Teets,’ a massively overweight and inappropriate human sexuality teacher; Olivia Thirlby as ‘Jeena,’ the beautiful girl of Mondo’s dreams; Jake Busey as ‘Turk,’ an obnoxious local surfer and bully; and Tony Hale as ‘Wadska,’ a charmingly nerdy and delusional friend.

The series was created by David Gordon Green (“Pineapple Express,” “Your Highness”) and is animated by Six Point Harness.  Executive producers include Green, as well as Tom Brady (“The Simpsons”), Tom Werner (“Roseanne,” “That 70’s Show”), Mike Clements (“Life and Times of Tim,” “Are You There Vodka, It’s Me Chelsea”) and Brad Ableson (“The Simpsons”).  Clay Spencer serves as the executive in charge of production for MTV.  “Good Vibes” premieres on MTV on Thursday, October 27 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.

“DEATH VALLEY”
MTV’s horror-comedy Death Valley is a scripted series that follows the ‘Undead Task Force’ (UTF), a newly formed division of the LAPD, documentary-style, as they capture the monsters that roam the streets of California’s San Fernando Valley.  In a world where vampires, werewolves and zombies live freely, “Death Valley” is a fun, comedic non-stop thrill ride featuring chases, hardcore kills and bizarre encounters.  The series airs Monday nights at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

“Death Valley stars Tania Raymonde (“Lost”), Bryan Callen (“The Hangover”), Caity Lotz (“Mad Men”), Bryce Johnson (‘Sleeping Dogs Lie”), Texas Battle (“Final Destination 3,” “Dragonball,” “Coach Carter”) and Charlie Sanders (Funny or Die’s “The Big Dog”).

Death Valley is executive produced by Eric Weinberg (“Californication,” “Scrubs”), Austin Reading (“Spike TV’s Scream Awards,” “FEARnet”), Julie Kellman Reading and Tim HealySpider One is co-executive producer. Tony DiBari is executive producer for MTV, and Matthew Parillo is the MTV executive in charge of production

Fierce Comics to Release Midwalker #1 at New York Comic Con

Fierce Comics announced that it will launch the company’s third title, Midwalker, at the 2011 New York Comic Con, held October 13-16, at the Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan. The book follows the experiences of Joshua Fischer after a serious head injury that almost cost him his life. Years after the injury, Fischer discovers he has the remarkable ability to cross partway into the ethereal realm whereby he is enveloped in, and can control, amazing energies. But the euphoric feeling associated with crossing over turns out to be far more addictive than he ever anticipated. “I wanted to explore what it would be like for a person if he or she were free to experience a taste of heaven while being tethered to Earth,” said writer Ben Filipiak. “How addictive would that ability be? How would it affect your relationships, or your perspective on life?” Soon after discovering his abilities, Joshua finds himself hunted by Growtesque, a large and powerful demon warrior sent to destroy him.

The story is being brought to life by the talented Mike Shoyket (Titans, Superman 80-page Giant, G.I. Joe: America’s Elite) who is both penciling and inking the book. “Besides the fun superhero stuff, it’s a figuration of how people, and especially young people, deal with horrible tragedy. I think it’s a very special story,” said Shoyket.

Fierce Fan favorite Scott Reed returns to color the book. Scott’s comics career began as an inker for Malibu Comics (Star Trek:DS9, Mortal Kombat, Ultraverse) and Dark Horse Comics (Godzilla, G.I.Joe). He later wrote, illustrated and self-published his creator-owned comics under his self-publishing label Web’s Best Comics (The Last Odyssey, High Strangeness). Reed was the penciler, inker and colorist of Redneck Red from Fierce Comics. More recently, he has written for Image Comics (The Overman) and Marvel Comics (Son Of Hulk: Realm Of Kings and Dark Son: The Enigma Force).

“I’m fortunate to have such an outstanding creative team to work with on this project. We’re receiving very favorable responses to both the story and the art in this book. It’s definitely looking like we have another winner on our hands,” said Filipiak. A limited number of preview edition copies of the first in the six-issue series will be available to purchase at the New York Comic Con.
